#What is Stratus?
Stratus in the narrower sense is a component library that forms the user interfaces of Kinsta applications. More broadly, a design system that incorporates the basic design elements that make up our brand.
We use Stratus components to build applications like MyKinsta. For various reasons, we do not use this library in all applications and user interfaces. For example, the website team develops its own component library, and a few other applications have several legacy components that are waiting to be replaced as technical debt.
Stratus aims to provide a convenient, understandable and easy-to-use solution for building user interfaces that ensure a consistent and unified look.
#Stratus' philosophy
We keep the needs of our users in mind.
- We value accessibility, localization options, developer experience and usability.
Customization is discouraged.
- We allow as few options as possible to keep flexibility but preserve consistency.
We think in Kinsta.
- Stratus is not a general all-purpose component library. Stratus is ours, and we want to keep it ours.
